4 Steps To OVERCOME The Credit-Flu

4 Steps To Overcome The Credit-Flu

Being a Christian you sometimes find yourself numb to poor credit scores or quickly adjusting on the fly. What we must know and understand is that thousands of families have experienced credit denial rather it be credit cards, housing, or auto loans. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT let your carnal mind talk you out of becoming financial healthy.

Often times when we talk about credit we like to get what I call the credit flu. That feeling where your nauseous, fatigued, and physically weak. Instead of getting the proper doctor prescribed medicine we will settle for the over the counter remedies. Those over the counter remedies such as quick credit fixes and disputing every negative item can result in lower credit scores. This can develop into depression while becoming financially and spiritually broken. Even if you get to the bottom and feel broken all is not lost. We must take capture of our negative thoughts and adjust our thinking, get organized, and assign a purpose to every penny.

What I, Naima-Ra Johnson (Coach NaimaJ), would prescribe is a long-term treatment, not a quick fix. I have a flu shot with no side effects that will repair the spirit, strengthen the family, increase your scores, and allow you to live in your purpose that God has assigned you. Remember healing is a process, exercise your faith, and patiently await increase.

Do not become anxious, repairing your credit may take as long as 2 years. "That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn't life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don't plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren't you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? "And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don't work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? "So don't worry about these things, saying, `What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?' These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. (Matthew 6:25-33 NLT)*

Are you ready to tackle your credit reports?

Are you ready to become financially and spiritually healthy?

Step One: Acquire Your Credit Reports

Obtain a current credit report from each credit bureau: Equifax, Transunion, Experian. You can get a free credit report through www.annualcreditreport.com report for free each year. I suggest you start monitoring your credit report through MyFICO. MyFICO products allows you to monitor your credit reports from each bureau. With their credit monitoring services, you will receive accurate and up to date FICO scores. By monitoring your credit report, you will also be able to see changes as they occur.

Step Two: Exercise Your Faith

Anxiety will blanket the truth about your finances and credit. You must look past your current circumstances, gain strength through the Word of God. Lien not on your own understanding, cast your cares on God and take action. Everything belongs to God, He will give you the resources, patience, and desire to become financial FREE! The moment you pondering on your past mistakes you will find anxiety. Your emotions will tell you it is too hard and abort the plan. God wants you and your family to be free from worrying and poor credit characteristics.

Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28 NLT)

Set aside time daily to exercise your faith and rest knowing God’s plan will lead to prosperity and freedom.

Exercise your faith before you create your credit recovery plan. Ask God to give you strength and clarity as you embark upon your new season of prosperity. Plan for emergencies, this will help you avoid depression.

Step Three: Get Organized

Audit each section of your credit report. You are more than likely to miss inaccurate information if you rush the process and try to audit your credit report in one day.

Getting organized is crucial to repairing your own credit. Disputing inaccurate items on your credit report can be confusing however if you stay organized you will be able to dispute in a timely manner. I suggest using three different highlighters one color for Equifax another color for Transunion and the third color for Experian.

Step Four: Auditing

Step four, it is time to start digging into your credit reports. If you are unable to obtain all three credit reports that is OK you can still look for inaccurate information on one credit report. However, I highly suggest getting all three credit reports from www.MyFICO.com. This will allow you to correct all inaccurate information on all three reports. This is very important especially if you are going to make a huge purchase in the near future.

Make sure you are checking and auditing your credit reports at least twice a year. Man isn't perfect and unfortunately, lenders accidentally report inaccurate information on your credit report. However, you can dispute and have those inaccuracies corrected.
